5 Things I’m Scared of Right Now

I’m scared.

As I’m typing this blog post right now, my palms are sweaty, my heart is hammering and my stomach is doing gymnastics.

What am I doing with my life? Why am I doing what I’m doing? How should I live my life if I’m scared?

Scared

I’m scared because I’m going to be doing something new – and because I’m not sure if I can do them.

You see, I’m 22. I’m young. I have a whole life ahead of me. I should be bursting with happiness right now, right?

I should be fearless! I shouldn’t be afraid of making mistakes. I should go ahead and take the plunge!

Wrong.

I’m 22. I’m young. And I’m scared of everything that’s about to happen.

1. I’m well on my way to being a financial advisor.

Now that I think about it, financial literacy is my passion! I live to serve!

Yes, writing for a living would be the ultimate dream job.

Focus on the word “start-up”, please?

4. I’m going to establish a new website specifically targeted to 20-somethings.

Watch out for it!

I love speaking to myself… I wonder if a public speaking stunt would be the same?

I’m scared, and you know what?

It’s alright.

Scared

I might fail.

I might lose a lot of money.

I might not even get a lot of sleep.

It’s okay that I’m scared.

It means I’m trying to do something new.

It means I’m stepping out of my comfort zone.

It means I’m trying (so hard!) to take charge of my life and pursue my passion.

Failing forward is always possible. I mean, I only get one chance at life! I don’t want to live my
life being scared all the time…

Fear is an emotion that can either make or break you.

You can let it crumple you and reduce you to pieces.

Or you can face it head on and tame it along the way.

Go ahead, my friend, take risks and be scared.

Would you like to live a life that’s full of regrets because you weren’t able to do a lot of things?

Or would you like a life that’s full of experiences (and maybe even success)?

You choose.
