How to enroll an account to BDO online banking (abroad)
With your trusty laptop or desktop and your mobile phone in hand, together with a reliable Internet connection, you can enroll your BDO account to online banking in just 4 steps:
1. Visit the official BDO website
To get started, go and visit the official BDO website at www.bdo.com.ph.
2. Click “Enroll Now!”
Once you’re at the official BDO website, look for Online Banking Login at the top right side.
Place your mouse over there until you see the Enroll Now! link. Click on it.
3. Agree to the terms and click “Submit”
After you’ve clicked on the “Enroll Now!” button, you’ll be directed to another webpage.
Here, you can find the online/electronic banking terms and conditions of use for BDO online banking accountholders.
Make sure to read the online banking terms thoroughly. Then, once you’re done reading, check the box next to I have read, fully understood and agreed with the Terms and Conditions.
With the box checked, clicked on the Submit button and go to the next step below.
4. Complete the BDO online enrollment form
Now, you’ll be taken to a new page where you would need to fill out your personal information online.
First, you need to choose your bank account with BDO. It can be a credit card account or a bank deposit account. Only the following accounts are allowed for initial enrollment:
- Individual or Joint “OR” ATM-based Savings or Current Account
- Credit Card (Principal Card)
You can enroll other BDO accounts like Time Deposits, Cash Card, Consumer Loans and Trust Accounts as soon as you have activated your online banking.
Next, since we’re talking about how to activate BDO online banking abroad, select the option Outside the Philippines when asked where you’re enrolling from.
If you’re an OFW living outside the country while you set up your online bank, select the same option too.
Scroll down for a little bit and you can see the Nominate Your Online Banking Information section.
Under this section, you can put your own User ID and Password. Want more tips on how you can secure your login credentials when banking online? See this post on precautions you can take for account confidentiality in BDO online banking.
You also need to give your mobile number and e-mail address when setting up your electronic bank account in BDO for the first time.
Please make sure these are both accessible and valid, so you’ll have no problems when doing your BDO online banking login.
Finally, make sure you copy the captcha image correctly.
For example, in the image above, the captcha reads as FOWA so that’s what you’re going to type in.
The captcha won’t be the same for you, so please pay attention when you’re setting up your online bank account for the first time.
Once everything has been properly filled out and completed, click on the Submit button.
5. Wait for a BDO officer to call your mobile within 5 business days
Remember the mobile phone you entered earlier?
That’s important, because that’s the one BDO will use when contacting you so you can activate your online banking even if you’re abroad.
After you’ve submitted your online form earlier, expect to receive a phone call from a BDO banking officer within 5 business days.
Once they’ve called you and confirmed your BDO online banking account, you’ll receive a confirmation email from BDO so you can finally activate your account.
You may access your BDO online banking account once you’ve received the activation email.
